perfectly normal paranoia
This is my personal blog, a journal of my life; my blog of pretty things (et cetera) is here. Twenty-two. Might as well be five.
I'm moving to Portland, OR in September, so if you're a Portland-living person, say hi! New friends for a new city are much appreciated.

DON'T GIVE NONE FUCKS.

Kitten wearing a headband. You’ve got to see it to believe it.

Also please note that we discovered the headband trick because he does it to himself, I’m not torturing him or anything.

please enjoy this video of my kitten giving me a noggin bump (like a fist bump but for things without fists) and also the noises I make at my cats when they are cute

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

I recorded this because it is nearly 5am and why the fuck not?

After sonic-ing for a bit, I realized that the light gives me a halo, so I put my hood up and pretended to be the Virgin Mary for a mildly offensive minute. Because it’s nearly 5am, as I said.

An act of desperation? (via rileyanneoh)

This is what my life looks like. Spinning in an office chair while blasting Tegan & Sara.

Today, the longest day ever:

  • Woke up at 1, didn’t go to class. I had a weird dream that necessitated some emotional class-skipping.
  • Met Tara at the office at 2, to lay out this week’s issue of the Indy. Slight hitch: the only article we had was Madame Query, and you can’t exactly print a weekly newsmagazine with only an advice column. Did we despair? Yes. Did we give up? No.
  • Watched the new episode of US Skins, ate some Hub food, contemplated how to make an issue with no copy.
  • Went to Kathy’s for my senior project meeting at 3:45. Hung out with CatPuck while she finished her other appointment, talked to Gary about Detroit and Joyce Carol Oates. My senior project is coming along well.
  • Back to the office by 5, where I found Tara spinning in the chair and having emotions. We had emotions at each other for a few and started flipping through the random boxes in the office in lieu of making the issue, since we still had no copy. Tara read a lot of Hyperbole and a Half. She’d never read it before.
  • Watched most of the new Pretty Little Liars episode, read through a ton of old copies of the Load, lamented the fact that the Hub used to be the Pub, and used to serve alcohol.
  • Hung out with the PSGA people, since our offices are connected. They offered to help with the issue and Alex wrote a story for us! He’s the best.
  • I moved the furniture in the office around. Twice. It looks so much better now.
  • After 7 hours of being in the office, we finally procured enough copy to begin working. Tara did the layout while I alternately wrote out back page quotes and made a spread of old Purchase papers on the floor.
  • I ran to the library to see if I could get some old issues of the Dispatch, was told to come back tomorrow, and ran back to the office in time to grab some jalapeño poppers before the Service Board meeting at 10.
  • After a few more hours of work, Tara and I took a MAJOR dance break. And just general silliness. We needed it. Watch this video, when I realize that we’ve been in the office for 10 hours.
  • While I was editing one of the University Police officers stopped in to let us know he was locking up the building, and would we be interested in running a story on a new system UPD is implementing. He explained it to us, and it is the most awesome development in student safety. I can’t wait to publish the article.
  • After TWELVE HOURS IN THE OFFICE Tara and I gave up for the night. We wanted celebratory drinks but obviously it’s hard to find an open bar at 2am and impossible to find an open liquor store. We decided that we might as well go to bed, and have some celebratory sleep. Sleep is healthy.
  • I ate some awesome soup that I got at Terra Ve the other day. Seriously, so awesome. Sheri is watching Skins, and I am about to get some much-needed sleep.

It was a ridiculous day, and kind of shit, but simultaneously one of the best days of my entire life. As we were walking home, Tara said, “We did nothing today.” But no! Not at all! As I told her, today we made something out of nothing. And that’s pretty damn impressive.

Also, this video is proof that I make The Face all the damn time.

It’s a really cool video anyway, Rachel’s videos are great.

We’re doing homework in Rachel’s installation space. And then we weren’t, for a moment…

You guys, I’ve been awake for about 40 hours straight now. Which I think/hope explains why I just made this pointless video.

GLOW GOLF! (via WerthWatching)

The three times you hear me talk in this video, I’m complaining about the lack of Lady Gaga in the night. I just needed to dance.

But Jessica’s injury was the result of my rule that whenever the chorus to Low happened, whoever was putting had to putt while getting low. My bad!
